My first Greasemonkey script

To avoid silly “Vote Up If…” links on social news site reddit.com, I wrote a Greasemonkey script.

By now I should probably add that, while I know a lot about the theory behind all sorts of programming languages and technologies, I know very little about actually writing JavaScript, Greasemonkey scripts, XPath, or how to actually program.

But I figured with the help of Google I should be able to pull it off. So I decided I’d spend 3 hours on it, at most. After a lot of trial and error, here is the result. Feel free to point out any newbie mistakes.

Instead of actually removing the links, the script colors them a light grey and strikes a line through the text.

Ironically, my initial Reddit thread on the subject gets the treatment too.
