On the Newsbooster Verdict
Friday, July 5th, 2002
So, Newsbooster lost. As of today 1 pm CET, the court ruled in favour of the DDF. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go here. What does this mean, then? Like Newsbooster states in a press release (in Danish), it doesn’t mean a lot from a narrow, short perspective. But in the long run, it means a lot. This stupid ruling sets an extra barrier for developing useful internet services and provides another reason why proprietary-thinking companies should rule the internet. And right here and now, I bet a lot of good projects in development will never see the light of day for fear of being dragged to court. I’m disappointed.
